CDISC Builder™ 2.1 - Installation Test Scripts - Report

The following documentation contains test scripts and expected results for validating the CDISC Builder Report tool. Do the following to verify proper installation:

Start the CDISC Builder application by double clicking on the desktop icon.
Perform each test by performing the steps specified by the instructions.
Evaluate the results of each step by comparing them with results described in the Documentation column.

Instructions 1
Start the CDISC Builder application from the icon in desktop.

From the main CDISC Builder screen, click on the "REPORT" icon.
Verify that there are three report types listed including: Audit Trail, Contents & Print and Traceability Report.
Select on the Audit Trail item.
Click on the OK button.
Verify that the CDISC Builder Audit Trail report is created.
Select on the Contents & Print item.
Click on the OK button.
Verify that the CONTENTS screen is displayed. Click on the Cancel button.
Select on the Traceability Report item.
Click on the OK button.
Verify that the Traceability Report screen is presented.

Instructions 2
Start the CDISC Builder application from the icon in desktop.

Click on REPORTS icon to open Reports screen.
Select on the "Audit Trail" report type.
Verify that the default output file name is: cdiscbuilder_audit_trail.html.
Select on the "Contents & Print" report type.
Verify that the default output file name is: cdiscbuilder_contents_print.html.
Select on the "Traceability Report" report type.
Verify that the default output file name is: cdiscbuilder_traceability.html.
Click on the Contents & Reports.
Note the output path in the "Output File" entry.
Click on the "Contents & Print" option.
Click on the OK button.
Verify that the path and file noted in step 9 is carried over. Click on the Cancel button.
Click on the "Traceability" option. Note the output file.
Click on the OK button.
Verify that the path and file noted in step 13 is carried over. Click on the Cancel button.

Instructions 3
Start the CDISC Builder application from the icon in desktop.

Click on REPORTS icon to open Reports screen.
Select on the "Audit Trail" report type.
Click on the OK button.
Verify that a report is generated.
Click on the Cancel button.
Verify that no report is generated and that the window closes down.

Instructions 4
Start the CDISC Builder application from the icon in desktop.

Click on REPORT icon from the main screen.
Select the "Contents & Print" and click on the "OK" button.
Enter an invalid path in the source data entry.
When the Enter button is pressed, verify that the non-existing path message is presented.
Click on the [...] button and navigate to a sample directory with datasets such as: C:\temp\cdiscbuilder\input
Verify that the datasets listed in the "Data Sets" list matches the datasets in the directory specified in the source path.
Click on the "Select All" button two times to confirm the toggle selection of all datasets or de-selections.
Click on the "CDISC" button to verify the selection of CDISC datasets such as AE or DM.
Select report type of "PROC CONTENTS".
Click on the OK Button.
Verify that the report generated only has PROC CONTENTS.
Select report type of "PROC PRINT".
Click on the OK Button.
Verify that the report generated only has PROC PRINT.
Select report type of "BOTH".
Click on the OK Button.
Verify that the report generated only has BOTH types of reports.
Select a path and file name for the output using the [...] button.
Click on the OK button to verify the report is created in the specified output file location.
Click on the "Save Code" button.
Note the output path and file name.
Click on the OK button.
Navigate to the directory on the operating system as noted in step 21.
Batch submit the program.

Instructions 5
Start the CDISC Builder application from the icon in desktop.

Click on the REPORTS icon from the main screen.
Select the "Audit Trail" report type and click on the OK button.
Verify from the report by scrolling down to the bottom that the last item performs with CDISC builder is captured in the audit trail.

Instructions 6
Start the CDISC Builder application from the icon in desktop.

Click on the ADDSEQ icon from the main screen.
Note the dataset and select the first dataset in the list.
Select the domain, identification variable, unique subject id and click on the OK button.
Verify confirmation if certain key fields exist by clicking OK.
Click on the Cancel to exit out of ADDSEQ.
Click on the VARLEN icon.
Select the same dataset noted in step 2.
Click on the right arrow button.
Click on the OK button.
Verify that the report is produced.
Click cancel to exit out of VARLEN.
Click on REPORT icon from the main screen.
Select "Traceability Report" from the report type.
Click on the OK button.
Select the same dataset as noted in step 3 from the "Traceability Report" screen.
Click on the OK button.
Verify that the report includes programs from both ADDSEQ and VARLEN.
